Gynecomastia Treatment: What Is It?

Gynecomastia treatment, commonly known as male breast reduction, is a surgical procedure to reduce enlarged female-like breasts in men. Enlarged male breasts can be a result of various factors, including excess weight, skin laxity and genetics.

Male breast reduction procedure is commonly performed by using a combination of ultrasonic and power-assisted liposuction. In some rare situations, an incision is needed to excise a substantial amount of male breast tissue.

The gynecomastia surgery takes about one hour to complete. Most of Dr. Chasan’s La Jolla and San Diego male breast reduction patients recover quickly and are back to their normal activities within one week.
