Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)

Rhinoplasty is a procedure that can change the shape of the nose whether it appears too large for your face, has a bump on the bridge, or if it is off center or crooked. This procedure can also be used to correct an obstruction of the airway which impairs breathing.

The procedure is performed either "closed" or "open." The closed method is performed by making incisions inside the nostrils. The open is performed by making a small incision below the tip of the nose. The surgeon works through these incisions to sculpt and shape the nose to the desired position. The procedure takes approximately two hours to perform. Most patients have minimal swelling. Bruising in the lower eyelids usually lasts about one week.
